Taken from AP Physics 1 Course Overview: Here

AP Physics 1 is an algebra-based, introductory college-level physics course. Students cultivate their understanding of Physics through inquiry-based investigations as they explore topics such as Newtonian mechanics (including rotational motion); work, energy, and power; mechanical waves and sound; and introductory, simple circuits.

The course is divided into 6 Big Ideas that expand over multiple topics.  Students will create connections between topics using Essential Knowledge and Science Practices to obtain a deeper understanding of the 6 Big Ideas.  At the conclusion of the course students will be prepared for the AP Physics 1 Exam with the opportunity to earn college credit.
